Rules of the Road

  1. Be predictable to other drivers – Avoid sudden actions
  2. Wear brightly colored clothing for improved visibility
  3. Wear a helmet that fits securely
  4. Do not wear headphones
  5. Stay together as a group – it’s not a race!
  6. Obey all traffic laws
  7. Use hand signals to communicate turns and stops
  8. Ride with traffic
  9. Stay as far to the right as possible, with no more than two bikes abreast
  10. Pass only on left and announce passing to other riders
  11. Watch for cars at intersections and driveways, including turning vehicles
  12. Watch for car doors when passing parked cars
  13. Watch for road hazards (glass, potholes, manholes)
  14. Shout out road hazards to warn other cyclists
  15. Ride friendly and be aware of traffic conditions
  16. Secure your bike and belongings with a lock

We recommend that all riders carry a spare tube, tire levers, pump, and multitool.
If the need for bike repairs should arise, never leave anyone alone on the route.
