Mission StatementThe Center for Creative eXchange is dedicated to enabling deeper mutual understanding and growth locally and globally through fine, literary and performing art programming, on-site horticulture and the sharing and recycling of resources in a home-like environment of creatively rehabilitated architecture. Ideals, Applications and ProgramsThe Center for Creative eXchange operates with the intention of positive change and therefore is mindful of the energy it consumes, the waste it creates, and seeks to lessen potentially negative effects upon its environment both in a macro- and micro-cosmic level. CCeX works towards sustainability one step at a time, beginning with basic methods of reuse and recycling (such as composting and architectural salvage) and increasing its green methods of energy production as it grows and learns. The Center for Creative eXchange is for practical purposes an artist and writer residency in the making which operates through a method of thinking holistically and implementing a sustainable system through its functions and programming. CCeX sponsors a series of programs that support its mission and goals.
Currently other programs include annual Bike Ride Fundraisers which seek to encourage dialogue with the communities through which the bikers travel and arrive, and an annual Creative eXchange Dinner Party. Some of these programs have been set into motion while others await the completion of the Center's facilities in order to begin. Please contact us with inquires to get involved. CCeX is currently run by a group of dedicated volunteers. LogoA simplified image containing the first letters of the Center's name (two 'C' s with an 'X' in the middle), our logo was designed to be representative of our values by the use of broad and intuitive symbology. Two directional arrows pointing to one another show a balance between opposite directions, flowing together in an eternal exchange of energy. This is reminiscent of ancient symbols such as the ouroborus (aka the world serpent) and the infinity symbol which represent the creative cycles and aspects of nature; fertility, change, death, renewal and eternity. The logo also looks like a bicycle which, of course, is a tool which enables a healthy mobile society and environment.
